Exploring the effects of changes during the slot-die extrusion manufacturing process on the microparticle distribution in cellulose acetate membranes.

Ethan Hilton

Engineering Design / Design Methods

Ethan is currenly pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received a Bachelor's degree in Mechancical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 2014. Since coming to Georgia Tech, Ethan has been researching Engineering Design Methods and Applications as a part of the IDREEM Lab. His research focuses on design methods as they are practiced by experienced designers and how they can be implemented into Engineering Curriculum. He is currently working on a project evaluating different methods of teaching students free-hand sketching and how these skills impact their design abilities.

Peter Griffiths

Manufacturing / Polymer Thin Films

Peter Griffiths is a second year PhD student in the School of Mechanical Engineering working for Dr. Tequila Harris in the Polymer Thin Films Processing Group studying thin film manufacturing. He is particularly interested in computational modeling of nano-composite solutions that exhibit viscoelastic flow behavior to better understand structure-process-function relationships. His goal is to develop computational tools to model the process physics to tailor particle distributions and material properties during thin film manufacture, for varying applications.
